RAYMORE, Mo. – The Omaha men's golf team is in 12th place after the first two rounds of the Bill Ross Intercollegiate hosted by UMKC.
The Mavericks shot team scores of 310 and 307 for a total of 617 over the first 36 holes at the Creekmoor Golf Club. Grand Canyon leads the tournament with a total of 573, three shots clear of Stephen F. Austin. Host UMKC is third at 580.
Kevin Gordon and
Kelly Brown tied for the team lead after two days with scores of 150, putting them in a tie for 32nd. Gordon shot 74 and 76 while Brown went 76 and 74.
Ben Maskus is third on the team and tied for 54th with rounds of 78 and 77 for a total of 155.
Max Hellstrom is fourth for UNO with a line of 82-80-162, good for a tie for 67th.
Sam Musch fired matching rounds of 82 for a total of 164, putting him 70th.
The final round begins Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
