PEORIA, Ill. -- The Omaha women's tennis team hit the road for a busy weekend, opening with a 4-3 loss to Bradley at David Markin Tennis Courts on Friday. The Mavericks are now 4-10 on the season.

Omaha opened by claiming the doubles point, as the Mavericks won all three matches. Alex Tran and Lindsay Weideman defeated Carly MIles and Kennedy Scott, 8-4, at No. 1, followed by Tiffany Hottman and Molly Matricardi over Adele Henke and Sarah Rodefeld at No. 2 by the same score. Jacqueline Baude and Rachel Pierson finished it off at No. 3, downing Elizabe Przystawski and Cassia Wojtalik, 8-3.

In singles action, Tran topped Henke at No. 1 by a score of 7-5, 6-4, and Matricardi came through in the No. 2 slot against Rodefeld, 7-5, 6-4. With the Mavericks leading 3-1 at this point in the match, Bradley rallied for wins at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 to dig out a 4-3 overall match victory.

Omaha returns to action on Saturday, April 6, traveling to Valparaiso. The match is set for 10 a.m. in Valparaiso, Ind.
