TULSA, Okla. - Omaha Women's Tennis' season came to a close in the semifinal round of the Summit League Championship tournament following a 4-2 loss to (3) North Dakota.
The (2) Mavericks earned their three points in the top half of the singles lineup.
Sophomore Nina Wiese (Flushing, N.Y.) was the only Mav to win her match in straight sets with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Jule Schulte in the No. 2 flight.
Junior Khayli Buckels (Ballwin, Mo.) won 6-2, 0-6, 6-2 in the No. 1 flight over North Dakota's Ethel Li, while sophomore Katelynn Kock (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) won 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 in the No. 3 flight against UND's Andrea Pineda.
The Mavericks end the season with a 15-10 record for the second year in a row. In conference play, Omaha had a 5-1 mark for its highest conference winning percentage since 2007-08.
"Great season for this team," head coach Adam Summitt said. "Not the way we wanted it to end, but in today's match, someone had to lose. I'm proud of our effort. We played well and competed until the last point."
Summitt ends his 10th season leading the program with a 107-123 record and a 30-25 conference mark.
