ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State got 27 saves from goaltender Mike Lee to blank the UNO Mavericks, 4-0, in game one of their WCHA first round playoff series.

Game two of the series is Saturday night at 7:07 p.m.  UNO must win on Saturday to force a deciding game three on Sunday night.

The Huskies got on the board just 2:30 into the game when Joe Rehkamp knocked in the rebound of a shot by Garrett Milan.

SCSU stretched its lead during a power play late in the period.  Ben Hanowski slipped in down the off wing and rapped in the rebound of a shot by Jared Festler for his team-leading 21st goal of the year.

The Mavericks held the shot advantage, 13-9, in the second period, but the Huskies scored the only goal.  Andrew Prochno scored off a rush, firing home a pass from Festler to make it 3-0 after two.

Defenseman Taylor Johnson finished the scoring when he slapped home a powerplay goal in the last minute of the third.

Ryan Massa stopped 25 shots for the Mavericks who have now lost five straight games.
