Joe Holtmeyer, who was drafted in the 22nd round (No. 682 overall) of the 2011 Major League Baseball amateur draft by the Boston Red Sox. Holtmeyer was the fifth Maverick drafted under Head Coach

In the series finale, Anthony Bemboom finished 1-for-5 with two runs driven in, while Erik Mattingly went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Last weekend, Iowa won its home set against Northwestern by winning two of three games, marking the first time since 1998 for the Hawkeyes to win a series in the opening week of conference play.
Iowa leads the all-time series with UNO, 5-0. The two squads last squared off on March 21, 2002 at the Florida College Baseball Jamboree in Ormond Beach, Fla., with the Hawkeyes grabbing a 4-1 win.
