Final Stats
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The UNO softball team finished play at the Lady Hornet Invitational with a 4-0 loss to host Alabama State Saturday morning. The Mavs' second game of the day against Savannah State was canceled after heavy rains moved into the area.
Lauren Larson went 3-for-3 for the Mavs, and
Tonya Peterson,
Molly Negrete and
Mara Eeman all had singles for the Mavericks against the Lady Hornets.
Alabama State jumped on top quickly after Sosefina Toilolo hit a two-run homer after Brehanna Rodrigues got hit by a pitch to lead off the game. The Lady Hornets added runs in the third and fourth innings to increase the lead.
Kat Barrow (1-2) took the loss after going 4.2 innings and allowing four earned runs on eight hits. Barrow struck out two in the loss.
The Mavs got runners on first and second in the sixth inning with no outs but were unable to plate any runs.
UNO is off next week before playing at the Coastal Carolina Tournament in Conway, S.C., March 2-4.
