Lindsey Slocum and
Beth Haley were named Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Americans on Wednesday at the NCAA National Championship banquet in Salem, Va.
Slocum earned first-team honors as a utility player for the second straight year, while Haley was named to the second team as a pitcher for the first time in her career.
In addition, Haley earned Daktronics All-America Honorable Mention on Wednesday for her outstanding senior season.
Slocum, a three-time Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Region selection, hit .299 with eight home runs, 38 RBIs and a team-leading 14 doubles this season. She finished her career tied for second place in school history with 153 career RBIs.
Slocum also recorded a 15-5 record in the circle with a 1.84 ERA and an opponent batting average of .193. The Omaha Marian product had 166 strikeouts and a team-best 9-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio and added three saves in the circle for the Mavericks.
Haley is a two-time MIAA Pitcher of the Year and finished the year with a team-best 22-5 record and 1.06 ERA. The Highland, Ind., native recorded 167 strikeouts, 12 shutouts and completed 24 of the 28 games she started, holding opponents to a .193 batting average. She also pitched her second career no-hitter against Upper Iowa on March 23. Haley finished in third place in school history with 76 career wins and finished a school-record 38 games.
Both Slocum and Haley were named to the Daktronics All-Region First Team and Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Region First Team last week. The duo also earned spots on the All-MIAA First Team with Haley earning MIAA Pitcher of the Year for the second straight season.
