EMPORIA, Kan. - The No. 22 UNO softball team finished off a perfect 4-0 weekend with a doubleheader sweep of Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday at the Trusler Sports Complex.
The Mavericks won their four games in Emporia by a combined total of 27-2. On Saturday, UNO defeated Missouri-St. Louis 9-0 in the first game and 6-2 in the second game to improve to 14-4 on the season.

Beth Haley# tossed a two-hit shutout in the six-inning win in Game 1 to improve to 5-3 on the year. Haley struck out 7 and walked none, bringing her weekend totals to 11 innings pitched, five hits allowed, no runs scored and 12 strikeouts to no walks.

Lindsey Slocum hit an RBI single in the third and added a two-run homer in the fourth to lift the Mavs. Katelyn Hinton# also had two hits and three RBI, while
Sara Elliott notched two hits and had two RBI.

Lauren Larson# knocked two home runs out of the park for a total of three RBI. Slocum picked up the win in the circle to improve to 4-0 this year. Slocum pitched all seven innings, striking out 10 and allowing five hits, as the Mavs built up a 6-0 lead before allowing two runs to Missouri-St. Louis in the top of the sixth.
The Mavericks will be in Springfield, Mo., next weekend for six games at the MIAA Crossover I.
