OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha softball senior shortstop
Maggie O'Brien was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team, it was announced Tuesday.
O'Brien is a finalist for Academic All-America® and has advanced to the national ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 17, 2025.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
O'Brien, the 2025 Summit League Defensive Player of the Year, finished with a perfect undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 and earned her master's in business administration this May with a 3.97 GPA.
This is O'Brien's third Academic All-District® honor.
