Mavs Give Scarpello 500th Career Win

DURANT, Okla. - UNO Head Coach #Jeanne Scarpello# earned her 500th career win, as the No. 8 UNO softball team ended the Southeastern Oklahoma State Invitational with a pair of wins on Sunday at the Durant Multi-Sports Complex.

The Mavericks defeated Texas A&M International, 5-1, before capping the tournament with a 3-2 win over Central Oklahoma in the eighth inning. The win over Texas A&M International was Scarpello's 500th career win. The all-time winningest coach in UNO history now has a career record of 501-153-1 (.765). 

With the wins, UNO posted a 5-1 record at the Invitational and improved to 9-1 overall on the season. The Mavs won five straight games after dropping their tournament opener to No. 3 Angelo State, 5-1.

In the morning win against Texas A&M International, #Katelyn Hinton# went 2-for-4 with three RBI, including a second-inning home run. #Beth Haley# picked up her third win of the season in the circle.

#Dana Elsasser# also notched her third win of the season in the afternoon game against Central Oklahoma. Hinton added her second home run of the day and third of the season, while #Alli Hukill# drove in #Lindsay Redding# in the bottom of the eighth for the winning run. 

The Mavs play next at the Texas Woman's University Tournament in Denton, Texas, March 4-5.
