OMAHA, Neb. - The Mavs extended their winning streak to 22 straight games Friday, the second longest streak in school history as they swept and shut out Southwest Baptist at Claussen-Westgate Field. No. 23 UNO (42-9, 15-2 MIAA) beat the Bearcats, 1-0 in game one and 3-0 in game two.

Lindsey Slocum# hit a solo home run in game two for the first run of the game. She went 2 for 3 at the plate that game and in the circle she struck out eight with no walks to improve to 16-2.

Treightin Yates drove in Alli Hukill in the fifth and Kristi Meneely#'s sacrifice fly to right in the sixth scored #
Jamie Nash#. Nash chose not to slide into home on a close play and she stepped over home plate as the throw came in just a step behind her. As the SBU catcher handed the ball to the pitcher, Nash turned around and stepped on the dish before they could tag her.
Hukill doubled to lead off the fifth inning of game one and then Yates drove her in with a single through the right side for the game's only run.

Beth Haley# gave up two hits in the first inning and one more in the fourth but the Bearcats failed to capitalize. She improved to 18-2 and struck out three with no walks.
Slocum moved into a tie for seventh in school history with her 10th home run. She became the 13th Maverick to get at least 10 homers in a season. She moved to ninth with her 52nd RBI.
The Mavs won 23 straight games in 1993 and with a doubleheader Saturday against Central Missouri, UNO can tie and break the record. Senior Day will be celebrated between games as UNO plays its final regular season game at home.
