EMPORIA, Kan. - The Mavericks were swept in an MIAA doubleheader Saturday afternoon, falling at Emporia State, 5-0 and 3-2.
Nebraska-Omaha fell to 20-9 and 4-2 in the MIAA while the 18th-ranked Hornets improved to 26-7 and 4-0 in the league.
The Mavericks were held to just three hits in the opener. #
Treightin Yates# had two of them, including a double in the first inning, but the Mavs only put one runner past second base the whole game.

Beth Haley# started the game and collected the loss, falling to 7-2. She threw four innings and allowed three of the runs off five hits.

Julia Krejci drove in Alli Hukill# with a single.
The Hornets tied the game in the fourth and then went up by a pair off a two-run double in the sixth.
Hukill led off the sixth with a home run to pull UNO within a point. The Mavericks loaded the bases after that but couldn't put the tying run across the plate.

Lindsey Slocum# pitched a complete game for UNO. She struck out six and walked two but fell to 8-2.
Yates had three hits in game two and went 5 for 7.
