MARYVILLE, Mo. - #Alli Hukill hit two more home runs Saturday after getting two Friday and Julia Krejci# also hit a pair of blasts as the Mavericks won two games at the MIAA Northern Crossover, hosted by Northwest Missouri. The Mavericks beat Southwest Baptist, 13-0 in five innings and then topped Pittsburg State, 6-4.

Four different Mavs had homers against the Bearcats. #Lindsey Slocum hit a three-run shot and Krejci had a solo homer as the Mavericks scored five runs in the first inning. Hukill and Trieghtin Yates# then hit solo shots in the third inning.

The Mavericks put the game away in the fifth with six runs off five hits. #Chelse Koca# hit a pinch-hit, two-run double and Slocum had a two-run double as part of the offensive outpour. Slocum ended the game with five RBI.

#Beth Haley# pitched the complete-game victory. She allowed just two hits with seven strikeouts and no walks.

Game two saw the same strong offense, but the Mavs had to fight back from an early Gorilla lead.

Slocum gave up three runs in the first inning but the Mavs got them all back in the second. #Emma Wright# drove in Slocum on an RBI ground out and then Hukill later singled in a run. Yates later tied the game with an RBI double.

The Mavs got three more in the fourth off a leadoff homer from Krejci and a two-run homer from Hukill.

#Melissa Negrete# relieved Slocum and earned the win. She pitched the final 5 2/3 innings and allowed two hits and a run. She struck out five.
