JOPLIN, Mo. - The Mavericks scored just once as they dropped a pair of pitcher's duals Sunday in the final day of the Missouri Southern Tournament. Nebraska-Omaha (8-6) fell, 2-1 to Midwestern State and 1-0 to Emporia State.
The Mavericks got just two hits against the Mustangs and they scored their run without the benefit of those hits. #
Emma Wright walked in the fourth and then Lindsay Redding#, who pinch ran for her, later scored on an error.

Lindsey Slocum#, who suffered the loss in the circle, had one of the hits and #
Kristi Meneely# had the other.
Slocum allowed six hits and she struck out six. The Mustangs scored their runs off RBI singles in the fourth and sixth.

Melissa Negrete# pitched well against the Hornets as she gave up four hits and struck out eight. A double and then an RBI single in the fourth inning was all the offense ESU needed.

Nebraska-Omaha will play its home-opener Wednesday at 2 p.m. against Augustana (S.D.) at Claussen-Westgate Field.
