JOPLIN, Mo. - All three of UNO's pitchers recorded wins as the Mavericks won three times Saturday in the first day of play at a tournament at Missouri Southern.

 

Lindsey Slocum earned the victory in a 4-1 win over Missouri Western in the opener. Julia Krejci hit a two-run single in the top of the seventh to break a 1-1 tie.

In the second game, Beth Haley earned the win as the Mavs (8-4) beat Oklahoma City, 10-1 in six innings. Slocum went 3 for 3 in the game with a double and four RBI.

In the closing game, Melissa Negrete earned the win as the Mavs topped Pittsburg State, 11-3 in five innings. Treightin Yates went 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles and three RBI. Alli Hukill also went 3 for 3 and she drove in a run.
