CCHA Release
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – UNO senior defenseman #Eddie DelGrosso# was name to the All-CCHA First Team today. He's the first Maverick to be named to the first team since Scott Parse earned the honor during the 2006-07 season.
DelGrosso leads the Mavericks in scoring with seven goals and 23 assists for 30 points. He's also the top scoring defenseman in the CCHA. Last weekend, the native of Las Vegas, Nev. became UNO's all-time leading scorer among defensemen with a goal and two assists against Bowling Green on March 6. He now has 109 career points, two more than the previous record holder, Greg Zanon, who now plays for the Minnesota Wild in the NHL.
DelGrosso was named to the All-CCHA second team as a junior and was a member of the league's All-Rookie team in 2006-07.
Both Miami and Northern Michigan had two players named to the All-CCHA First Team. Miami placed forward Jarod Palmer and goaltender Cody Reichard while Northern had former Omaha Lancer Mark Olver and defenseman Erik Gustafsson placed on the team. Zac Dalpe of Ohio State rounded out the first team.
The teams were selected by a vote of the league's head coaches and are based on performance in conference games. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.
