Weekly Release
The 23rd ranked University of Nebraska at Omaha softball team will face three different opponents again this week. The Mavericks will square off in a doubleheader with Wayne State (Neb.) in Wayne, Neb. on Tuesday, April 14 at 2 p.m. This weekend, the Mavs will host a pair of MIAA foes. On Friday, April 17 UNO will face 21st ranked Missouri Western in a doubleheader at 3 p.m. The Mavericks will wrap up this week's action on Saturday, April 18 when they take on Truman State in another doubleheader at 1 p.m. The home games will be held at Claussen-Westgate field.
The Records
The Mavericks improved to 32-7 on the season and 6-2 in the MIAA after sweeping Upper Iowa and Fort Hays State at home, and Northwest Missouri State on the road last week. Wayne State (Neb.) is 25-12 overall and 9-2 at home. Missouri Western has a record of 35-6 on the year, 8-2 in the MIAA and is 10-1 on the road. Truman State is 6-10 in MIAA play, 1-10 on the road and 10-23 overall.
The Coaches

Jeanne Scarpello# is in her tenth season as the UNO head coach. She entered the 2009 season just three wins shy of reaching 400 wins for her career. She reached that milestone in just the fourth game of the season when the Mavs defeated Saint Edward's on February 21. Her record now stands at 429-129-1 including four conference titles, nine straight trips to the NCAA Division II tournament, and a national championship in 2001. She is assisted by Michala Cimino (12th season), #
Cory Petermann# (9th season), and Steven Boulton (1st season).
Season Leaders

Treightin Yates# leads the team in batting average hitting .345. Yates is also the team leader in hits (39) and runs (25). #
Katelyn Hinton# continues to lead the team in RBI (27) and home runs with 6. #
Melissa Negrete#, who improved to 13-3 last week, leads the team in wins, strikeouts (77) and era with a 1.07 earned run average.
The Series
UNO has the series advantage over all three opponents this week. UNO has a commanding lead in the series with Wayne State (Neb.). The Mavs all-time record now sits at 65-21 with two wins earlier this season over the Wildcats. The Mavs hold the all-time lead over Missouri Western as well in the all-time series with a record of 29-17. The Mavericks have doubled up Truman State in the all-time series with a 17-8 advantage.
Coming Up
UNO will travel to Sioux Falls, S.D. to take on former NCC rival Augustana in a doubleheader. The two-game series will take place on April 21 at 3 p.m. On April 24, the Mavericks travel to Bolivar, Mo., to face MIAA foe Southwest Baptist in a doubleheader at 2 p.m. The following day, the Mavs wrap up the week's action against conference opponent Central Missouri at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg, Mo.
