Final Results
LINCOLN, Neb. – The UNO track team earned its marks in the field at the Nebraska Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the University of Nebraska. The meet was the second of the outdoor season for the Mavericks who once again had limited participation from their runners.
#Heather Minssen# took fifth place in the shot put with a throw of 44 feet, five and a half inches. Minssen was also twelfth in the discus with a toss of 126 feet, nine inches. She was ninth in the javelin at 100 feet, seven inches.
Triple jumper #Rasheema Pitt# tied Minssen for highest finish of the day by a Maverick when she placed fifth with a leap of 36 feet, five and three-quarter inches. That led a parade of three straight UNO finishes in that event. Kelly Hollman was sixth at 35 feet, four inches while #Ashley Yates# finished in seventh at 35 feet, two inches.
Hollman finished tenth in the long jump to lead all Mavericks with a mark of 16 feet, five and a quarter inch. Pitt was twelfth at 16 feet, one inch.
The Mavericks are back in action on Friday, April 17 at the Central Missouri Mules' Relays in Warrensburg, Mo.
