Lindsey Slocum was 5 for 6 from the plate and she hit a two-run home run as the Mavericks split two games on their final day at a tournament at Missouri Southern.
Nebraska-Omaha fell in 10 innings, 6-4 against Cameron and then won in five innings, 11-1 against Fort Hays State. Action will continue for the Mavs (9-3) Tuesday when they host Augustana at 2 p.m. at Claussen-Westgate Field in their first home game.
Slocum hit her two-run shot in the fourth innings against FHSU after the Mavericks scored four runs in the first inning.
Katelyn Hinton was 2 for 4 in the game with a two-run triple and
Julia Krejci had a pair of doubles.
Slocum also pitched for the Mavs against the Tigers and allowed one run off four hits with 11 strikouts.
In the opener against Cameron the two teams were tied, 3-3 after seven innings. The Aggies scored once in the ninth and then
Amanda Bader drove in a run in the bottom of the inning to tie the game. CU scored two runs in the top of the 10th off a single and a ground out and UNO couldn't answer in the bottom of the inning.
Bader, Krejci and Slocum each had two hits in the game and UNO pitcher
Beth Haley went the distance, allowing six runs, four earned, off nine hits with 10 strikeouts.
