Meneely Has Part in Both Winning Runs as Mavs Win

ORLANDO, Fla. - Kristi Meneely scored the winning run in a 1-0 win over Minnesota Duluth and then she drove in the winner in a 4-3 victory against Southwest Minnesota State as the Mavericks won twice in the second day of the Rebel Spring Games.

Nebraska-Omaha improved to 17-4 and will continue action in Florida against Mass.-Lowell Friday at 2 p.m. Central and then against New Haven at 4 p.m.

Meneely led off the fifth against UMD with a single and then later scored on a double by Katelyn Hinton for the game's only run.

Melissa Negrete struck out seven Bulldogs to improve to 7-2 on the year.

In the second game Meneely came to bat in the seventh inning with the score tied, 2-2 and she hit a single that drove in Amanda Bader and Ashley Lynch. She was 2 for 4 in the game with a double.

Lindsey Slocum earned the win in the circle, improving to 5-0.
