OMAHA, Neb. – The University of Nebraska at Omaha hockey team fell 4-3 in overtime to the second-ranked University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish Friday night at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.

Jeremie Dupont collected 29 saves and Nick Fanto# added a goal and an assist to pace the Mavericks, but a Billy Maday goal with 1:21 remaining in overtime handed UNO its fourth consecutive loss.
The Fighting Irish improve to 24-5-3 and 18-4-3-3 in the CCHA while the Mavs drop to 13-14-7 and 8-12-7-3 in conference action.
UND scored the only goal in the first period on a score by Christiaan Minella at 3:03 in the first frame.

The Irish answered back and scored two straight goals to give them a 3-1 advantage. Christian Hanson netted a goal at the 4:32 mark in the second, while Maday recorded a goal at 15:33.
UNO answered back just 1:05 later on the power play. #
Matt Ambroz# redirected a shot by Bernier that beat UND netminder Jordan Pearce to cut the Irish lead down to 3-2 heading into the third period.
The Mavericks tied things up at 3-3 at the 8:10 mark of the third on Fanto's goal.
In overtime, Maday recorded his second goal of the night when he unloaded a slap-shot that deflected off a Maverick defender and slipped past Dupont.
The Mavericks and Fighting Irish with continue their series tomorrow night at the Civic Auditorium with a 7:05 p.m. face off. Fans are encouraged to wear white and bring a ball cap that they wish to donate for the “Caps for Cancer” promotion.
