ST. PETER, Minn. - The Mavericks dropped their No. 1 doubles match but went on to sweep the final eight points in an 8-1 dual win against Augustana Friday night in the Gustavus Adolphus Invite.
Nebraska-Omaha improved to 2-0 on the season and will continue action Saturday against North Dakota and then Gustavus Adolphus.
Samantha Thomas and
Mary Lausten won, 8-2 at No. 2 doubles and
Jenna Nielsen and
Sara Wheeland won, 8-5 at No. 3 doubles.
The Mavericks went undefeated in sets in singles play. Thomas won at No. 3 singles and Lausten won at No. 4 singles.
Rachel Faulk took No. 1 singles, Tracie Moklestad won at No. 2,
Kelsie Olson won at No. 5 and
Heather Hottman shut out her No. 6 opponent, 6-0, 6-0.
