OMAHA, Neb. - The Mavericks made their first field goal Thursday afternoon then missed 10 straight to lead to a 76-42 loss to ninth-ranked Emporia State at Sapp Fieldhouse.

Alyssa Green#'s jumper made the score 3-2, ESU, the Mavericks went cold from the field. During their 0-for-10 dry spell, the Hornets built a 15-point lead. Nash's 3-pointer at 11:56 broke the streak and made the score 19-7. Nash had hit a pair of free throws earlier.
The 12-point deficit after Nash's 3 was the closest UNO got the rest of the way. The Lady Hornets pushed the lead to 21 at the 4:21 mark and that was their advantage at halftime as they went into the locker room up 38-17.
The lead stayed in the 20s for ESU until at pair of free throws by Lacy Corker at 2:05 gave the Lady Hornets a 30-point lead.
The Mavs shot 24 percent in the game while ESU shot 49 percent. The Hornets were 42 percent from 3-point range and 77 percent from the free throw line. The Mavs were out-rebounded, 44-26.
The Mavericks will return to action Saturday at 1:30 p.m. as they host Missouri Western.
