Mavericks release 2025-26 women's basketball non-conference slate

The Jamie Carey era gets underway Nov. 3 at K-State

OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha women's basketball commences the 2025-26 campaign at K-State on Monday, Nov. 3, it was announced Tuesday. The Mavericks enter the Jamie Carey era with a 15-game non-conference slate in the build up to Summit League action in early 2026.

"We are excited about our upcoming non-conference schedule and look forward to the opportunity to compete against so many quality opponents," said Carey. "The schedule provides us a great opportunity to learn about our group and help us prepare in a multitude of ways heading into a competitive and challenging Summit League schedule."

The Mavericks kickoff the season with an exhibition at historic Sapp Fieldhouse on Sunday, Oct. 26 vs. Avila, coached by former Omaha women's basketball student-athlete Remy (Davenport) Wolfe.

After the regular-season opener at K-State, Omaha returns to Sapp for a showdown with the College of Saint Mary on Thursday, Nov. 6 before a three-game road trip in Utah.

Omaha will face Utah Tech (Wednesday, Nov. 12), BYU (Thursday, Nov. 13) and Utah State (Saturday, Nov. 15), followed by a pair of home games at Baxter Arena against CSU Bakersfield (Thursday, Nov. 20) and Lindenwood (Saturday, Nov. 22).

Carey's Mavericks hit the road for the first of two previously-announced Big Sky-Summit Challenge games at Idaho State on Wednesday, Dec. 3. Omaha welcomes Northern Colorado to conclude the challenge on Saturday, Dec. 6.

For the third time in four seasons, Omaha will face Nebraska in Lincoln on Wednesday, Dec. 10. Omaha heads to former Summit League foe Western Illinois on Saturday, Dec. 13, followed by a home game against crosstown rival Creighton on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at Baxter Arena.

Omaha heads to California for a two-game event hosted by LMU with the Mavericks facing Southern Utah (Saturday, Dec. 20) and Weber State (Sunday, Dec. 21).

Non-conference play concludes on Saturday, Dec. 27 vs. Briar Cliff.
