Carey adds Lamke to staff

OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha Women's Basketball head coach has added Annalese Lamke to the coaching staff ahead of the 2026-27 season.

"We are thrilled to welcome a rising star in the coaching profession with deep midwest roots to our program in Annalese Lamke," Carey said. "Annalese has a deep understanding of what it takes to be a successful student-athlete, having played at the University of Minnesota. She has worked her way up in the coaching profession from graduate assistant to assistant coach through her relentless work ethic and passion for development. She is great at building authentic relationships, which is invaluable as we continue to strengthen our presence across the midwest. Annalese is a tireless worker, a passionate teacher and a connector. We couldn't be more excited for her to join our team!"

Lamke comes to Omaha from Loyola Maryland, where she has served as an assistant coach since 2023. As a coach, Lamke helped lead the Greyhounds to a program-best second-place finish in the Patriot League in 2023-24. In the 2024-25 campaign, Loyola Maryland had its first winning record in the nonconference slate in 19 seasons.

Lamke served as the lead position coach for posts and small forwards while with the Greyhounds, including Lex Therien, who became the program's all-time leading rebounder and a two-time first-team selection in the Patriot League.

Prior to her position as an assistant coach, Lamke worked as the program's director of operations from 2021-23, where she oversaw and coordinated team travel, gear fulfillment and compliance.

Lamke earned a master of science in athletic training at Bethel University in 2021 while also working as a graduate assistant within the women's basketball program. She graduated with a bachelor of science in kinesiology in 2019 from Minnesota, where she was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and a three-time academic all-Big Ten selection.

"I am extremely excited to join Coach Carey's staff as they begin year two at Omaha," Lamke said. "I'm grateful for this opportunity to work with one of the greats of the game, and I cannot wait to get to work toward her vision for what this program can be!"
