Carey adds two transfers to 2026-27 roster

OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha Women's Basketball head coach Jamie Carey added a pair of transfers ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Joining the Mavericks are:

  • Nyaluak Dak – C – 6'2" – Lincoln, Neb. – Lincoln Southeast (East Texas A&M)

  • Mya Skoff – G – 5'10" – Bellevue, Neb. – Bellevue East (Lindenwood)

Nyaluak Dak
Dak joins the Mavericks after two seasons with the Lions. In that time, she has appeared in 27 games, tallied 109 points and recorded 99 rebounds. She has shot 56.3% from the field and 58.6% from the free throw line. The Lincoln Southeast grad led her team to a Class A District Championship during her senior year. The same season, Dak was a first-team all-city and all-conference selection.

Carey on Dak:
"We are excited to welcome Nyaluak to our program. She is a talented post player who brings maturity and adds both depth and experience to our front court. Nyaluak has a strong presence inside, is mobile and defensive-minded, with the length to impact both ends of the floor. On the offensive end, she has a soft touch around the rim with great hands and footwork and also has the ability to face up and knock down shots. Nyaluak's presence on the boards and in the paint will make an impact on our program. We are delighted to welcome Nyaluak back home to Nebraska!"

Mya Skoff
Skoff comes to Omaha after three seasons with the Lions. She has played in 95 games with 70 starts and averaged 27.5 minutes per game. The guard has shot 40.6% from the field and 33.7% from the arc for a total of 774 points. A Bellevue East grad, Skoff graduated at the top of the all-time scoring list with 1,355 points. Skoff was a two-time all-state and all-metro selection.

Carey on Skoff:
"We are excited to welcome Mya to our program. She is a dynamic, skilled, experienced guard with a relentless competitive spirit and motor. Her maturity and leadership qualities, along with her experience competing for championships, will make an immediate impact on our team. Mya has been a program builder and a self-builder, having improved every year of her career, most notably with her decision and play making abilities. Mya has a contagious passion for basketball and a vision for life that is unwavering. We are thrilled to welcome Mya back home to Omaha, as a Mav!"
