OMAHA, Neb. (June 5, 2025) - Omaha women's basketball head coach
Jamie Carey has rounded out her inaugural staff with the hiring of Assistant Coach - Director of Operations
Dan Levine Thursday.
"I am thrilled to welcome Dan (Levine) as the final piece of our Omaha staff as assistant coach - director of operations," said Carey. "Dan has a unique perspective, energy and passion for the game of basketball and the impact he can make on young people's lives that immediately stood out to me. He began his journey as a practice player at Michigan, learning about the commitment and dedication it takes at the highest level to be successful and has continued as both an assistant coach and most recently as a video coordinator. His various experiences will be a tremendous asset for our program and I could not be more excited to welcome Dan to UNO."
Levine joins the Mavericks after spending the last season at Hampton (NCAA Division I - CAA) as video coordinator. Hailing from Washington, D.C., Levine was on staff for the Pirates' CAA tournament second round matchup.
A 2022 graduate of the University of Michigan, Levine earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management and Master of Management in 2023.
During his time in Ann Arbor, Levine served as a Michigan women's basketball practice player for three seasons. In those campaigns, the Wolverines made their first NCAA Sweet 16 (2021 and 2022) and Elite Eight (2022) appearances in program history and finished with record Big Ten seasons.
After graduating, Levine moved on to Emmanuel (NCAA Division III - GNAC) where he worked with the guards group and assisted with practice planning before heading to Hampton.
"I'm so grateful to coach Jamie for the opportunity to join the Omaha family and thrilled to be part of an amazing community," said Levine. "I look forward to joining the team and helping create a positive and memorable experience for our student-athletes."
