OMAHA, Neb. - The Mavericks held York (Neb.) to 15 first-half points en route to an 82-43 win over the Panthers Sunday evening at Sapp Fieldhouse.
Nebraska-Omaha (5-4) shot 43 percent in the game and stole the ball 20 times from York as the Panthers committed 29 turnovers. York shot 17 percent in the first half with just four field goals and ended the game shooting 28 percent.

Alyssa Green led the Mavs with 18 points off a 7-of-12 performance from the field. Paige Frauendorfer was 5-of-8 from the field with 13 points off the bench while starters Heather Pohl and Jessica Zaruba# each had 12 points.
Pohl led UNO with eight rebounds and Green grabbed seven. The Mavericks out-rebounded York, 43-30 and had 18 offensive rebounds.
After a quick start out of haltime, the Mavericks led by at least 20 the entire second half. They started the period on a 12-0 run, making five of their first shots with a pair of 3-pointers. That made UNO's lead 30 and York never got closer than 24 points from UNO the rest of the way.

Sara Reeves# with 44 seconds remaining gave UNO a 39-point lead, its largest of the night. Zaruba's lay-up in the final seconds matched that 39-point advantage.
The Mavericks overcame two early Panther leads. At the 12:33 mark UNO led by one at 12-11 and then a 17-0 run gave UNO an 18-point lead. The Panthers missed seven straight shots in the stretch before they broke it with a jumper by Juliana Bassetto.
The Mavs pushed the lead to 20 in the opening half before a pair of free throws in the final seconds by Bassetto gave UNO a 33-15 lead at halftime.
Bassetto scored 14 points for the Panthers while Megan Thomas led with 15. York's small bench of just three players failed to score a point.
Seven different Mavericks recorded at least two steals as the Mavericks swiped the ball 20 or more times for the second time this year. #
