Canyon, Texas – The University of Nebraska at Omaha soccer team fell to MIAA foe Truman 1-0 in the first round of the NCAA South Central region game Friday afternoon ending its 2009 season. TSU's Riley Mahn broke a scoreless 66 minutes of action when she headed a Kristin Haluszczak corner kick feed into the back of the net at 67:01 of the second half for the game winner.
The Mavericks finish the season with a 13-6-2 overall record. The Bulldogs improve to 15-3-3 overall. UNO dipped to 16-7-3 all-time in NCAA postseason play and is now 1-2-0 in region first-round games. The Mavs are now 4-1 against the Bulldogs in the postseason.
Corner kicks opportunities made the difference in the game and TSU had an 8-1 advantage in the game, including five in the second half. UNO's lone attempt came in the second half.
The Mavericks were limited to a season-low two shots in the game, both coming in the second half. The Bulldogs posted six shots in the game, outshooting the Mavs 2-0 in the first and 4-2 in the second half.

Jessica Powers and Jerica Kuncl# had one shot each, neither of them were on goal.

Lauren Fox# started and played the entire 90 minutes in goal for the Mavs. She made two saves in the match and finished the season with an 11-3-2 record. TSU goalkeeper Jayne Grisham recorded her 10th shutout of the season and improved her record to 14-3-2 on the season.
Truman will play No. 1 seed and host school West Texas A&M on Sunday at 1 p.m.
