HAMILTON, N.Y. – The UNO hockey team erupted for four goals in the third period to roar past Colgate 4-1 on Saturday night at Starr Rink.  #Jeric Agosta# led the barrage with two goals as the fifteenth-ranked Mavericks improved to 3-0-1 on the season.

The Mavericks have the next week off.  They'll return to action on Friday, Oct. 30 when they open the CCHA season with the first of two games against Bowling Green State University at Qwest Center Omaha.

With the Mavericks trailing 1-0 entering the third, Agosta started the barrage when he stole a clearing attempt and deked goalie Charles Long for his second goal of the year.

The Mavericks took their first lead of the game on a power play less than two minutes later.  #John Kemp found Eddie DelGrosso# at the top of the slot.  He rifled home his first goal of the season to make it 2-1.

#Joey Martin added insurance later when he finished off a nice passing play with Kemp and Ryan Kretzer#, burying his second goal of the weekend.

Agosta finished the scoring when he collected the rebound of an #Eric Olimb# shot and flipped the puck past Long for his team-leading third goal of the year.

Colgate freshman Christian Long opened the scoring when he scored his first collegiate goal on a second-period powerplay.

#John Faulkner# earned the win in goal with another strong performance.  He stopped 23 shots to improve to 3-0-1 on the year.
