OMAHA, Neb. – The UNO hockey team used another three-goal outburst to upset the tenth-ranked team in the country, beating the UMass-Lowell River Hawks 4-3 to win the championship game of the Mutual of Omaha Icebreaker on Saturday night at Qwest Center Omaha. With the win, the Mavericks improve to 2-0-0 on the season.

Terry Broadhurst# scored the game-winning goal. In the championship game, the Mavs had three goals in the second period to overcome a 2-1 deficit. They erased a similar one-goal hole in the third period of the seminfinal game against Army, a 6-4 win.
The Mavericks make their first road trip of the season next weekend when they visit Colgate on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 16 and 17.

Broadhurst converted a feed from Andrew McCabe at 8:52 for the game-winner, burying a hard wrist shot for his second collegiate goal.
Faulkner didn't give up a goal the rest of the way and got credit for the win. His tensest moments came in the final minute when the River Hawks pulled Hutton and got a powerplay to enjoy a six-on-four advantage.
Faulkner, Purslow and Broadhurst were all named to the all-tournament team, and Purslow was named the tournament MVP, scoring four points in two games.
