Joey Martin scored his second goal in as many days and junior goalie
Jerad Kaufmann made 28 saves, but neither was enough, as the Mavericks fell to Bowling Green State University, 3-1, in Central Collegiate Hockey Association play Saturday night at the Civic Auditorium.
The Mavs fall to 14-14-4 overall and 11-11-4 in CCHA play, while BGSU evened their season record at 15-15-0 and 12-12-0. UNO will travel to Marquette, Mich. next weekend, Feb. 22-23, wrapping up CCHA play with a two-game series at Northern Michigan.
UNO came out swinging in the first, peppering BGSU goalkeeper, Nick Eno, with 17 shots in the period. Eno was able to keep the game scoreless until the final minute of the first when Martin, with just 45 second left in the period, scored to put the Mavs up 1-0. Seniors

John Mazzei knotted the game 1-1 at 2:07 of the second period and Derek Whitmore's power-play goal at 16:15 of the second gave the Falcons a 2-1 lead heading into the second intermission.
BGSU padded their lead on another Whitmore power-play score 41 seconds into the third stanza, pushing their lead to 3-1.
