Leslie Svoboda was named the North Central Conference player of the week a fourth time for her performances last week. The sophomore third baseman from Lincoln, Neb., went 6-for-6 with three homers and eight RBIs in UNO's sweep of Nebraska-Kearney last week.

Svoboda, whose 19 home runs are a school single-season record, raised her average to .491 on the season.

The Mavericks this week will try to add the NCC tournament title to their regular season championship. UNO will play its first tourney game on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Grand Forks, N.D.
