Stephanie Kirby was named a first-team Scholar All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Wednesday, becoming the second Maverick to gain such an honor. Kirby's 3.98 GPA in biology was the highest of all the team members.
One of just three non-Division I players to make the first team, Kirby was also a Cosida Academic All-American and a three-time North Central Conference all-academic team member.

Stephanie Kruse became the first Mav to win the award.
The Mavs returned to the NCAA semifinals this year where they lost 1-0 to eventual national champion Kennesaw State, ending the season 17-4-2. Kirby started in all 23 Maverick games this year, gathering 27 points (10 goals, 7 assists). She finished her Mav career with 84 points and her 34 assists are a UNO record.
