Before UNO:
Participated one year for the University of Sioux Falls in the shot put, discus, weight throw, hammer and javelin... qualified for both the indoor and outdoor championship meets for the Great Plains Athletic Conference...in high school, was a four-year letter winner in track and a two-year letter winner in basketball for Roncalli Catholic High School...as a junior, was fifth in the state meet in the shot put and sixth in the discus.

Born Jan. 2, 1991...daughter of John Newsome and Sara Thompson...has three brothers - James, Michael and John Jr. - and three sisters - Shannon, Fionne Marie and Rachael...enjoys playing basketball and the guitar...majoring in business entrepreneurship with the goal of running her own architechtural design company.
