Lettered in cross country, track and golf in addition to basketball at Odebolt-Arthur High School...earned first-team all-conference honors and was a second-team all-state pick by the Sioux City Journal as a senior under Coach Jim Mickelson in basketball...averaged 20.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists and had 77 steals as a senior...averaged 16.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.4 assists over his career, in which he was twice named first-team all-conference and once to the second team...set school records for career scoring (1,179), field goals (433), assists (386) and for 137 assists and 77 steals in a season...was second-team all-conference pick in golf as a freshman and all-conference in cross country as a junior...also named to all-state basketball academic team.
