OMAHA, Neb. — Omaha Baseball (16-22, 11-9 Summit) continues its road swing this weekend with a three-game series at Summit League-leading Oral Roberts (29-18, 19-3 Summit) from May 8-10 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Mavericks enter the weekend after securing a road series victory at Northern Colorado. Following an 11-7 loss in the opener, Omaha responded with wins in the final two games, capped by a 12-11 comeback victory Sunday behind a 15-hit offensive performance.
During the series finale, Omaha turned a Division I-era program-record four double plays.
Tyler Bishop paced the Mavericks offensively during the series, collecting six hits, two home runs and four RBIs.
Cardel Dick added his team-leading eighth home run of the season Saturday, while
Jackson Trout hit his seventh homer Sunday with a two-run blast.
Trout enters the weekend leading the Summit League in batting average (.373), slugging percentage (.620) and OPS (1.058). He also ranks second in the conference in doubles (14) while leading Omaha in batting average, hits, doubles and RBIs.
On the mound, sophomore
Maddox Meyer delivered one of his strongest outings of the season in Saturday's win. The right-hander worked a career-long 7 2/3 innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits and one walk while striking out five to improve to 4-4.
Omaha faces an Oral Roberts squad that sits atop the conference standings, though the Mavericks already own one milestone victory over the Golden Eagles this season after becoming the first Summit League team to defeat ORU in conference play in 2026.
First pitch for Friday's opener is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT. With two conference weekends remaining, the series carries significant implications in the Summit League standings as Omaha looks to close the gap on the league leader.
