LINCOLN, Neb. — Outfielder Marra Cramer hit her sixth home run of the season as Omaha Softball dropped a 4-1 decision at No. 10/5 Nebraska on Saturday afternoon.
Cramer's home run came off Nebraska ace Jordy Frahm with two outs in the top of the seventh inning. Cramer went the opposite way for her homer to right field.
Cramer, who was named the Summit League Peak Performer of the Week on Tuesday, has a team-high 27 RBI for the 14-5 Mavericks.
Omaha was held to three baserunners on the day by Frahm, with Cramer reaching twice. Cramer walked in the second inning, and freshman and Lincoln native Hailey Boltz had Omaha's other hit with an infield single in the sixth inning.
Maddia Groff (4-3) went the distance for Omaha as she scattered 10 hits, walked none and struck out four.
Nebraska scored single runs in the second, fourth, fifth and sixth innings to build its lead. That included home runs from Jesse Farrell in the second and Ava Kuszak in the sixth.
Three of Omaha's five losses have come against teams ranked in the top 10 nationally. Omaha will play No. 10/5 Nebraska again Sunday at 2 p.m. CT on Big Ten Plus.
