Loranger’s breakout month earns NCHC Rookie of the Month

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Omaha Hockey freshman forward Jérémy Loranger (Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada) was named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Rookie of the Month for February, the league announced Tuesday.

The honor marks the first of Loranger's career and follows a dominant month in which he led all NCHC freshmen in scoring.

Loranger opened February with a goal on Feb. 14 against then-No. 8 Denver Pioneers and added two more goals in a series at Arizona State, scoring in three consecutive games. On Feb. 21, he factored into all three Maverick goals with one goal and two assists.

He closed the month with two assists against (RV) Miami (Ohio) on Feb. 27, finishing February with seven points on three goals and four assists in five games.

(8) Omaha hockey travels to Grand Forks, N.D., for an NCHC Quarterfinal matchup against (1) North Dakota at Ralph Engelstad Arena. Fans can listen live on 1290 KOIL or the Varsity Network, with both games streamed on NCHC.tv.
