Friday's game was filled from momentum swings.
Cornell (7-4) dominated the first 10 minutes, scoring three times as it raced to a quick lead.
Midway through the first period, Cornell had a 10-1 advantage in shots on goal. But Omaha then started to create turnovers and over the next 20 minutes of game action the Mavericks put themselves in front.
Samuel Huo scored Omaha's first goal with six minutes left in the first period as his shot found the net just after a power play ended.
Jacob Slipec took a centering pass from
Myles Hilman and scored with 2:45 left as Omaha went into the first intermission trailing 3-2.
Cornell missed a breakaway opportunity to open the second period, then Omaha quickly responded by tying it 2:20 into the period as Wong poked in a rebound.
Eight minutes later,
Tyler Rollwagen scored his fourth goal of the season on a rebound, giving Omaha a 4-3 lead.
But the third period belonged to Cornell. Cornell tied it on a power-play goal less than four minutes into the period, then it regained the lead with 9:51 left as Reegan Hiscock scored following an Omaha turnover. Cornell secured the win with an empty-netter with 1:52 left.
Dawson Cowan finished with 37 saves for Omaha, which was outshot 43-18 in shots on goal.
