OMAHA, NEB. (July 31, 2025) – Omaha women's tennis head coach Adam Summitt announced the final pieces of the Mavericks' 2025-26 roster with two additional signees.
Joining the Mavericks are:
• Corinne Barber • 5'6" • Lincoln, Neb. • Lincoln Southeast/Gomez Tennis Academy
• Sreevally Medishetti • 5'4" • Hyderabad, India • St. Philomena • Lewis
Corinne Barber
Barber joins the Mavs off a doubles championship in the L3 Rally in the Valley USTA 16 in 2024. The Lincoln, Neb. native won a state championship in singles as a freshman at Lincoln Southeast, finishing as runner-up the following year. Barber went to train at the Gomez Tennis Academy in Naples, Fla. where she continued her studies and travelled internationally to compete in ITF tournaments.
Summitt on Barber:
"We're really excited to have Corinne joining us next fall. Over the past few years, she's been training in Florida and has gained a lot of valuable tournament experience. I had the chance to watch her play a few times back in Lincoln and I was impressed with her athleticism and ball striking. She's fundamentally sound and continues to improve every day. Corinne is a great kid with the character and personality we're looking for. She also has a wonderful support system in her family and coaches. We know we're getting a great player and an even better person."
Sreevally Medishetti
Medishetti joins Omaha after two years playing Division II tennis at Lewis where she was a First Team All-GLVC selection as a sophomore. In two seasons, Medishetti went 23-11 in singles and 17-16 in doubles for the Flyers with key wins over ranked opponents from Emporia State (No. 38) and Angelo State (No. 18). Her victories secured a spot for Lewis in the GLVC tournament. Prior to the Flyers, Medishetti played across India as a part of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) where she regularly reached the semifinals and finals of U18 tournaments.
Summitt on Medishetti:
"I am excited Sreevally choose Omaha. She comes from a strong Division II program in Lewis University and unfortunately, the school decided to discontinue their program this summer which allowed us to connect with her. She is a passionate and driven individual who will excel on the court and in the classroom. Sreevally has high standards for herself and that is something I like to see in players. She was playing at the top of the lineup at her previous school, which will provide nice experience to lean on while playing at this level. We are looking forward to having her on campus this upcoming season."
