Weber and Gainer named to CSC Academic All-District® Team

OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha baseball senior pitchers Luke Gainer and Ben Weber were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team, it was announced Tuesday.

 The 2025 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Gainer, the 2025 Summit League Scholar of the Championship, pitched in his 65th career game as a Maverick to end his career in Omaha, tying him for the most games pitched in program history. The Waukee, Iowa native finished his time at Omaha, earning his bachelor's degree in Biology.

Weber, named to the 2025 Summit League's Second Team All-League and the 2025 Summit League Championship All-Tournament Team, led the Mavericks this season with a 3.92 ERA, 68 strikeouts and 80.1 innings pitched. The Omaha, Neb., native finished the academic year with a 4.00 GPA. The right handed pitcher was also named a finalist and will be listed on the national ballot for CSC Academic All-America®.
