GILBERT, Ariz. – The Omaha women's tennis team won the Community Service Award for the Central Region, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced Wednesday.
The Community Service Award honors a team that gives back to their campus and their community through tennis and non-tennis pathways. To be eligible for this award, a team must have a minimum of 50 community service hours.
For the 2024-25 season, the Mavericks tallied 226 hours spent bettering the community.
Colby Kelley led the charge with 47 hours working with Open Door Mission, Food Bank for the Heartland and Mav Food Pantry. Omaha ranked fifth among women's tennis teams in volunteer hours.
"We are honored to receive the ITA Community Service Award for our work this past year," said head coach
Adam Summitt. "Giving back has always been a core part of the university and our program's identity. I am proud of the team and how they show up consistently to support the community with the same energy, effort, and heart they bring to the court every day."
