Omaha hockey reveals non-conference schedule

OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha hockey has revealed its non-conference schedule Tuesday.

The Mavericks will drop the puck on the 2025-26 season in an exhibition contest against Air Force on Friday, Oct. 3 at Baxter Arena.

Following that, Omaha opens the regular season when it welcomes Minnesota State to Kemp Ice at Baxter Arena for two games between Oct. 10-11.

After a bye weekend, the Mavericks return to Baxter Arena for two games in a 2024 Ice Breaker Tournament rematch against UMass during Homecoming weekend on Oct. 24-25.

November begins with a road trip to open the NCHC schedule at Colorado College between Oct. 31-Nov. 1 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Following three straight conference opponents in November, the Mavericks head to Connecticut during the week of Thanksgiving for a two-game series at Yale on Nov. 28-29.

In the final month of the calendar year, the Mavericks travel north to Sioux Falls, S.D., to take on Augustana in the final regular season series of the calendar year on Dec. 19-20.

Omaha will play one last time in 2025 when it takes on Manitoba on Tuesday, Dec. 30, in an exhibition at home.

To open 2026, the Mavericks will play their final non-conference series at Cornell on Jan. 2-3 at Lynah Rink in Ithaca, N.Y.  

The rest of January features four straight NCHC opponents (two at home and two on the road). February features two home series against conference opponents, with a trip to Tempe, Ariz., breaking those weekends up against Arizona State on Feb. 20-21.

Postseason play begins with the NCHC Quarterfinals taking place between March 6-8, with the NCHC Semifinals on March 14 and the conference championship on March 21.
