OMAHA, Neb. - (3) Omaha softball's third-straight appearance in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship is set as the Mavericks (39-11, 14-4 Summit) prepare to visit Norman, Okla., hosted by the second overall seed Oklahoma. A three-seed for the second time in program history, the 2025 Summit League Regular Season and Tournament Champions will face (2) Cal in the opening round on Friday, May 16. The regional round is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, May 18.
Friday's opening game will air on ESPN+ at 2:30 p.m. CT.
The Mavericks are one of just five Division I softball teams to win three or more consecutive conference titles actively. Last season, Omaha advanced to the Columbia regional final.
The NCAA Championship is played in a double-elimination regional round with four-team pods feeding into a best-of-three Super Regional. The eight Super Regional champions advance to the NCAA Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City, Okla.
On the other side of the pod are the host (1) Sooners and (4) Boston University.
