SIOUX FALLS, S.D. and OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha softball standout Maddia Groff has been named the Kwik Star Summit League Softball Peak Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season, as announced Monday by the conference office.

The Omaha native made three starts, two of which resulted in perfect games, the fourth and fifth in program history, respectively.

After shaking off the outing against No. 20 Nebraska which broke the Mavericks' attendance record at Connie Claussen Field (1,537), Groff and Alyson Edwards combined for a perfect game on Saturday, March 29 vs. North Dakota as Summit League action resumed. In the 20-0 victory, Groff struck out seven of the nine batters she faced, tossing three innings of work for Mike Heard's Mavericks.

In the series finale Sunday, Groff registered 13 K's as she retired all 21 Fighting Hawk batters (7.0 IP) she faced on 96 pitches en route to her 13th victory of the season and second perfecto in as many outings (30 batters faced, 30 batters retired vs. UND).

Omaha begins the week on Tuesday, April 1 for a 4:30 p.m. CT tilt at Creighton streaming on FloSports, followed by a three-game series at North Dakota State live on the Summit League Network beginning at noon CT on Saturday, April 5, concluding Sunday, April 6.
