OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha softball welcomes No. 20 Nebraska and North Dakota to
Connie Claussen Field this week as the Mavericks look to snap a two-game skid.
The Mavericks (20-7, 1-2 Summit) opened up conference play last week with a home victory over St. Thomas, followed by a pair of setbacks to the Tommies.
Nebraska visits Omaha on Wednesday, March 26 after a 23-8 start to the season, including a 4-1 mark in Big Ten play. The Fighting Hawks, also 1-2 in the Summit League, make the trip down for a two-day series spanning three games beginning Saturday, March 29. All four games at home will air on the Summit League Network.
The matchup vs. the Cornhuskers is sold-out and only standing room and berm access will be sold online and at the gate.

- Leadoff shortstop senior Maggie O'Brien and fellow infielder Sydney Thomason boast the team's current longest hitting streak at five games each.
- Thomason and Sammy Schmidt are the only Mavericks this season to log five or more RBI in a single game.
- Thomason has reached base safely in nine-consecutive games; Marra Cramer's 15-game reached base streak is the team's longest of the campaign.
- Katherine Johnson, O'Brien and Thomason are hitting .333, .333 and .375, respectively, in conference play through three games.
- Omaha native Maddia Groff's opponent batting average of .190 in league games is the second-best in the conference.
- Groff's overall ERA of 1.58 is the second best in the Summit League and the 28th best in Division I.
- Her 115 strikeouts are the 20th most in Division I and her strikeouts per seven innings (9.6) rank 17th in the country
Nebraska enters Wednesday's single game having won three-straight matchups. The Cornhuskers are 3-2 in true road games while undefeated at home at 7-0. The No. 20 team in the nation swept Minnesota in the team's second conference series of the season. The game at Omaha is the Huskers' first midweek contest of the season. Ava Bredwell hit .714 in the series against Minnesota and had five hits with a double. She also logged a slugging percentage of .857. Hannah Camenzind pitched 4.2 innings against Minnesota and struck out a career-high seven batters. She also hit .556 in the series with three RBI, two doubles and five hits.
North Dakota fell in its conference opener at South Dakota with the Fighting Hawks, winning just the middle game of the three-game set. Katie Joten leads the team in offensive production, crushing .366 in all 32 games with 11 extra-base hits, including nine doubles and a home run. With 11 RBI on the season, Joten is slugging at a .516 clip. She is 2-for-6 on the diamond in stolen base attempts. All three of the Fighting Hawks primary arms in the circle have ERAs of at least 3.05.
Omaha heads to in-town foe Creighton on Tuesday, April 1, followed by a road conference series at North Dakota State beginning Saturday, April 5.
