OMAHA, Neb. - #4 Omaha Hockey (18-16-1, 14-9-1 NCHC) fell 2-3 to #5 North Dakota (20-14-2, 14-9-1) on Friday night on Kemp Ice at Baxter Arena after it outshot the visiting team 33-18.
The Mavericks did not allow a single shot on goal to the Fighting Hawks in the final frame and had 20 more faceoff wins in the contest.
Opening Faceoff to the Final Horn
- North Dakota forward Carter Wilkie was called for roughing 24 seconds into action. The Mavericks capitalized on the man advantage as graduate forward Harrison Israels netted a power play goal 30 seconds into the game.
- 7:09 into the contest, North Dakota's forward Jayden Perron tied it up also on a power play opportunity.
- Graduate forward Brady Risk took a puck away in the North Dakota zone, swung his way right to left around the cage, and put the visiting defense in a spin cycle as he passed it, which Israels changed the puck's course on its way to the point.
- Junior defenseman Jacob Guevin received the rerouted puck and sent a rocket behind T.J. Semptimphelter 14:03 into the opening frame.
- The Mavericks' scoring night ended there despite 22 shots on goal in the following two periods.
- North Dakota forward Cade Littler played the game's hero, scoring two goals within 23 seconds (both at even strength).

Notes
- Omaha set a season-high with 41 faceoff wins on the evening. The Mavericks have only once won 40 faceoffs this season when they beat Miami 8-1 on Nov. 23.
