OMAHA, Neb. – For the second consecutive week, freshman
Owen Kipp and junior
Bella Price have been named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Divers of the Week, the conference announced today.
"Congratulations to Bella and Owen on their recognition from the Summit League," diving coach
Eric Sprague said. "You could see Bella's determination to dive well, and her approach to get through the weekend was impressive. A couple of victories in a field of 20 competitors should give her some confidence to perform well at the championship meet.
Kipp earns his third Summit League honor in his first collegiate campaign. He and Price won their first honors this season on Oct. 29, which was Omaha's only sweep of the award in 2024-25 to date.
"Owen wrapped up his regular season with an impressive list on Saturday that was good enough to pick up the win against a tough field and set a new Omaha school record in the one-meter event," Sprague added.
This is Price's third honor of the season from the Summit League. Omaha has now won 14 weekly honors in the 2024-25 campaign.
At the Omaha Dive Invite this past weekend, Kipp won the men's one-meter dive with a new school record of 320.60, took third in the men's three-meter dive and helped the Mavericks win the men's team springboard event with a score of 301.65.
Price was able to sweep all three events she participated in. She took the crown in the women's one-meter dive with a 262.70, recorded a 261.75 to win the women's three-meter dive and was a productive member of the women's team springboard event with a collective score of 267.95.
"I'm looking forward to watching these two and the rest of the divers finish the season strong in a couple of weeks in Iowa City," Sprague shared.
The Mavericks' men's and women's diving teams will return to the water between Wednesday, Feb. 19, and Saturday, Feb. 22, when they compete in the Summit League Championships at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center in Iowa City, Iowa.
