OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Women's Basketball will hit the road to open conference play at Kansas City before returning home to face South Dakota State.
The Mavericks (2-13) are fresh off a win over Briar Cliff that saw graduate
Sarai Estupiñan (Cedar Park, Texas) record 35 points and freshman
Avril Smith (Omaha, Neb.) tally 21 rebounds. With 167 total rebounds, Smith leads the nation in rebounds as a freshman.
After midseason tryouts, the Mavericks welcome senior
Reilly Palmer (Omaha, Neb.) and junior
Lainey Maehl (Fort Dodge, Iowa) to the team. Both join the team with previous college basketball experience and successful high school careers.
Kansas City (3-10) leads the series all-time 11-10 with a 7-4 record at home against the Mavs. South Dakota State (10-4) leads the series 57-30 all-time.
